Ik was nog zo gevoelig en kwetsbaar voor erkenning en die Zilveren Harp was een soort beloning na al dat harde werken.Trijntje Oosterhuis (1996)
Each year in March, Buma Cultuur presents the Buma Harpen Gala. During a grand and compelling live television broadcast, the Buma Golden and Silver Harps, the Buma Export Award and Best Dutch song will be awarded.
The Buma Golden Harp, introduced in 1962, is presented annually to composers, performing artists or individuals who have specifically contributed to the performance and success of Dutch popular music.
The Buma Silver Harp is presented to three or four talented Dutch artists or composers who have demonstrated strong potential for a career in pop music.
The Buma Export Award is given to the Dutch artist who has sold the most records abroad.
The winner of the Best Dutch song is decided by Buma members from three nominations. The nominations are a selection of the best selling and most played Dutch songs of the last year.
At a glittering gala, the best Dutch writers and artists of the past year receive these important awards. During the live broadcast the winning artists will perform with the Metropole Orchestra. There will also be appearances from special musical guests.
